As a freshman, she was selected to perform in senior projects and to choreograph her own works within student salons. While at VCU she studied modern, ballet, dance history, and alignment as well as tap and hip hop outside of the program. Always continuing her education, Mary continues to immerse herself in dance taking classes both locally and in New York City. Mary is currently a member of Dogwood Dance Project – a modern company based in Richmond, whose features include events such as annual concerts, the Virginia Dance Festival and the Richmond Dance Festival. The project includes a youth ensemble, for which Mary has choreographed - highlighting her passion for teaching. Mary works well with all levels of students including those with special needs like blindness and autism. She takes pride in showing students the value of dance and its technique, and incorporating those factors into student’s current and future lives. Mary is very excited to join the AIM team and can’t wait to get working with some jazzy ladies!
