Policies

AIM's policies are a set of guidelines that our students and parents follow
in order to contribute to a safe, fair, and fun learning environment for everyone in the AIM family.

All families must accept the online waiver & policies agreement through our online customer portal system.

AIM POLICIES
Last Updated 7/19/2021

COVID-19/ONLINE LEARNING POLICIES
  • Classes may move to an online-only format at any time due to a rise in COVID-19 cases, exposure at the studio, state regulations, or inclement weather. We also may utilize pre-recorded content in place of a live class at any time.
  • Tuition for online classes is the same as in-person classes. No discounts or credits will be given for live or pre-recorded online classes.
  • Parents are welcome to walk their dancer into the building and wait with them in the lobby until their class starts. We ask that parents please wait outside the building during their dancer's class so we can keep our building occupancy low to allow for social distancing. Parents are welcome to wait in their cars, run errands, etc.
  • AIM and its instructors, contractors, owners, and employees are not liable if you or your student gets sick while enrolled at AIM.
  • Dancers must be symptom-free for at least 4 days or have two negative COVID-19 tests before returning to the studio after an illness. They are welcome to take class from home while recovering.
  • These policies may be updated or changed throughout the season. It is the responsibility of the parents/guardian of the student to stay informed of these policies.
Payment Policies
  • Payment Methods All families must have a credit card on file and enroll in automatic payments. All balances due will be charged on the indicated due date. Families are welcome to pay before listed due date in person with cash, check, or credit card.
  • Return Check Fee $35 fee for all returned checks. After two returned checks, families will be required to pay via credit card or cash.
  • Registration Fee $45 due at registration. Charged annually per family.
  • Tuition 9 equal monthly installments due on the 1st of each month, Sept-May. Tuition is the same each month regardless of the number of classes in that month, holidays, student absences, or inclement weather closings.
  • Tuition Discounts Families enrolled in multiple classes: all but the longest class will be discounted by 5% (for 2-4 classes) or 8% (for 5+ classes).
  • Late Fee If the credit card on file is rejected, a late fee of $15 per dancer will be assessed on unpaid accounts on the 10th of each month. Any student with an overdue balance will not be allowed to participate in class or perform in the Recital until balance is paid in full.
  • Performance Fee $195 for one child, $120 for each additional sibling. Due Nov 1. Includes 1 costume, performance tights, Recital T-Shirt, and digital download of the Recital video recording. Sibling fee includes costume, tights, & T-shirt.
  • Costume Fee For students enrolled in more than one class: $75 per costume for each additional class. Due Nov 1. Combination classes perform only one dance and thus purchase only one costume.
  • Refunds AIM has a strict no-refund policy. No refunds are given for any payments at any time for any reason.
  • Withdrawal Non-attendance does not constitute withdrawal. A written notice of withdrawal (email preferred) is required with two months' advance notice to remove a child from class. Tuition charges will cease two months after the written notice of withdrawal is received. Refunds will not be given. For example, if written notice is received on November 10th, the family will be responsible for December and January tuition; the Performance Fee and all paid Tuition fees will not be refunded.

Studio Policies
  • Important communication regarding tuition, recital details, studio events, etc., is sent regularly via email. Please make sure that AIM has a current email address on file. Parents are responsible for informing AIM of any changes to their contact information.
  • Students are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful manner at all times while at AIM. Instructors reserve the right to have disruptive students sit out of class activities or remove them from the classroom at any time.
  • Dancers must adhere to AIM’s dress code, including hair being pulled back away from the face neatly in a bun. Those who do not adhere to AIM’s dress code will be sent home with a written notice to parents. After the third offense, the student will not be permitted to participate in class.
  • Students of all ages should use the restroom before class. Dancers must be fully potty-trained before enrolling in classes at AIM.
  • Parents of students in Kids In Motion classes (3-6 yrs) are required to stay in the building during their child’s class.
  • AIM provides a water cooler for students, however we do not provide cups. Students should bring water bottles with them to class. All other food and beverages are prohibited in the studios.
  • Street shoes are not allowed on the dance floor. Hip Hop dancers must have shoes specified solely for dance class and should not wear them outside.
  • Students, parents and siblings may not enter the studio at any time without an instructor present. Parents may not enter the studio during class or open the door for photographs unless invited by the instructor.

Cancellation Policy
  • 2 cancelations are built into annual tuition. If a class is canceled more than twice, a makeup class will be held. No refunds will be given.

Attendance Policies
  • Students with 5 or more absences in the spring semester (Jan-May) will not permitted to perform in the Spring Recital.
  • Consistent attendance is crucial in order to progress in any class. Students who are recurrently late or absent may be moved to a lower level class
  • Students should arrive at least 10 minutes early to class to be ready for class when it begins.
  • Accelerated Program dancers and Ensemble members are expected to adhere to the specific attendance requirements of these programs.
  • For their own health and safety, students who arrive 15 minutes or more late will not be allowed to participate in class.

Performance Policies
  • Performing in the Spring Recital is a privilege. Instructors and the Director of AIM reserve the right to remove a student from a performance piece at any time due to absences, lateness, or disruptive behavior in class.
  • All Recital rehearsals are MANDATORY. Dancers who do not attend their required rehearsals will not be permitted to perform in the Recital.
  • Recital Info Packets will be handed out in January. Parents are responsible for staying informed of rehearsal details, costume and ticket info, etc.
  • Students will not be allowed to perform in the Recital if their account is not current.

These Policies may change at any time.  It is the responsibility of parents to stay informed of any changes or updates to the Policies.

I'd like to learn more about how AIM can benefit my child

"Just a quick note to let you know how much we appreciate all you have done for Snowdon this year.  She has truly loved being in your class and clearly she has learned so much from you. We also wanted to compliment you on your recital. Again, I was in awe of you--the beautiful choreography, positive attitude, getting 50+ kids to dance so well, and organization that would no doubt make Martha Stewart proud. The attention to detail was beyond comprehension (for me, an un-organized person!!).

I must share with you that while I am a novice on the dance recital circuit (except my own minimal experiences as a child), my mother-in-law, who said she has been going to dance recitals since she was six (her own, her daughter's, nieces and now grandchildren) paid you high complements as well--how beautifully the kids danced, how everything went so smoothly and quickly... I could go on! Again, thank you for everything. It has been a wonderful year for us and we think the world of you!"
