Our Plan for Keeping our Students Safe AND Dancing!
We know every family’s comfort level is different when it comes to social distancing and in-person activities for their children. We also know that participating in extracurricular activities is an important way to maintain a sense of routine, connect with a community, and to foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We are offering two options for dance classes this year: A hybrid in-person and online model, and an online-only option.
Hybrid Class Option
In order to maintain proper social distancing in the dance studio, we can accommodate 5 dancers in the studio at a time. We will set our capacity for all classes to 10. Each week, 5 dancers will be in the studio, and 5 will be at home on Zoom. The groups will switch every other week.
Online Only Class Option
Of course, some families may not be comfortable with in-person classes just yet, and that’s fine! We still want to provide these students with an opportunity to dance! We will open up several class slots to dancers to participate strictly on Zoom from their home.
In order to serve our online students better, we will be upgrading our internet speed and installing large flat-screen TVs in each studio for our Zoom students. This way, we will hopefully eliminate lags and freezing on our end, and the teachers will be able to see their at-home students much better than if we used a laptop or tablet.
Other Safety Precautions and Procedures
We’re serious about safety. Here are just some of the policies and procedures we’re putting in place to keep our students and staff safe:

"Being a part of AIM has helped me in so many different, and positive, ways. Firstly, being with you and Ms. Ashley, my dance experience has gotten pretty serious, and you have me thinking about careers in dance and circled around it.
It is nice to become so involved in something I know will help me, not only physically, but also mentally. I have gained loads of confidence since I started dancing at AIM, as my teachers before had helped me, but not on such a personal level.
AIM feels like my second home, and it basically is considering how many times a week I go. I am very comfortable there, not only because of the the teachers and great art I get to experience, but also the overall atmosphere of the studio.
