Jo Poh (he/they)

Jo Poh has been dancing since the ripe ole age of 2 years old. They simply could not stop moving. Growing up in the Midlothian, VA area, he attended a local studio until about high school age. This is when they were accepted into Thomas Dale’s Specialty Center for the Arts dance program. After learning the histories and nuances behind their favorite styles, and after getting a chance to study at Radford’s Regional Governors School, Jo took to JMU to continue his career in dance. After four years and a summer studying abroad in London, they graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance.

​Jo landed back in the Richmond area in 2023 and discovered AIM. AIM’s mission speaks true to everything Jo holds near and dear. He is proud to be apart of this team. Jo has a love for all types of movement exploration and discovery. And adores to bring out the confidence in other dancers. Meeting each dancer where they are, he creates a class he hopes is welcoming to all. They are so excited to be a part of the AIM community!!
