Accelerated dance classes for ages 13-18

Technical training really ramps up for our Accelerated teens. Dancers can expect to be challenged to learn more demanding jumps, turns, floorwork, and progressions in all styles. This is also when we fine-tune your dancer’s artistry and expression. By this point in their training, dancers know how to interpret the message, emotion, or story of their choreography. Now we’ll dive deeper to explore how to shine our own unique style on stage and make smart performance choices to captivate the audience.

Our advanced students can also look forward to opportunities to step into leadership roles at the studio. Teachers will ask dancers to lead warm-up, teach a combination, give constructive feedback to classmates, and contribute to class choreography. These exercises will help dancers build confidence as leaders and role models to carry with them throughout their lives.

POINTE SHOES! Going en pointe is a HUGE event in a dancer’s journey! Dancing en pointe requires tremendous strength, balance, coordination, and technical skill. Realistically, not every student will reach this milestone. Starting pointe before a dancer is physically and technically prepared can lead to lifelong injuries and complications. Students who wish to be considered for pointe work will be carefully evaluated by one of our athletic trainer or physical therapist partners. Dancers who are close but not quite there yet will be given specific exercises to work on to help them achieve this goal.

How it Works

  1. Class placement in the Accelerated Program is based on skill level and work ethic, so we'll need to see your dancer in action to place them in the appropriate level. Click the button below to request an evaluation.
  2. Once we receive your request, we'll reach out to schedule your evaluation.
  3. At your dancer's evaluation appointment, we'll have a chat with you and your dancer about their dance journey so far and what their goals are. Then we'll do a brief one-on-one lesson to see them move. At the end of the evaluation, we'll let you know what level your dancer should enroll in. We can take care of registration after your evaluation, or you can register online later. Your Accelerated dancer is required to enroll in the full package for their recommended level.
  4. Fall classes begin! We'll see you on the dance floor!
  5. Classes run perpetually (with breaks), but you're not "locked in." We just need two months' notice of withdrawal if you wish to drop your class(es). Check our calendar here.
Space is limited. Don't wait to reach out!
