Contact us about trying a class!⠀ We have put the following policies and procedures in place:⠀ ⠀ *Traffic flow in the lobby is controlled to maintain a low building occupancy and social distancing.⠀ *Dancers wait outside in 6-foot increments to be admitted into the building.⠀ *Office staff take each dancer's temperature with a contactless thermometer. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be asked to go home and take class via Zoom.⠀ *Dancers will be dismissed from classrooms one class at a time. Only after classrooms are empty will the next group of students be allowed inside.⠀ *Everyone must wear a mask at all times in the building, including during dance class.⠀ *Dancers and staff maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet in the studio.⠀ *Dance floors, barres, and props are cleaned and sanitized after every class.⠀ *Bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized every hour while the building is open.⠀ *Cubbies where students store their belongings are cleaned and sanitized after every use.⠀ *Office staff oversees dancers in the lobby to maintain social distancing before/after/in between classes.⠀ *Common area surfaces (seating, door handles, etc.) are cleaned every hour when the building is open.⠀ *Dancers who travel outside of the state are required to take class from home via Zoom for 14 days after their return.⠀ *Dancers who have any symptoms are required to take class from home via Zoom for at least 3 days after they are symptom-free or until they get two negative COVID-19 tests.⠀ *Online class is ALWAYS available for any student for any reason. Each class is streamed on Zoom each week, regardless of the class size or if students are scheduled to be online.

We are SO EXCITED to welcome Miss Brittany Alness to the AIM team! Miss Brittany just moved back to Richmond after spending a few years in Northern Virginia. Miss Brittany will be teaching Recreational Youth Ballet, Tap, and Jazz, Kids in Motion 3, and Accelerated Coral Jazz AND will be our brand new Customer Care Specialist!⠀ ⠀ Brittany Alness was raised in Northern Virginia, where she grew up studying all dance disciples, including ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, and musical theater. Brittany continued her dance education and earned her BFA in Dance and Choreography at VCU. During her time at VCU she had the privilege to study under Scott Putman, Christian Von Howard, Melanie Richards, Judith Steel, Martha Curtis, and Courtney Harris. At VCU, Brittany gained a greater knowledge base in Dance History, Dance Education, Dance Science, and Alignment. While also learning, she had the joy to perform in faculty works and works set by her peers.⠀ After college Brittany moved back to Northern Virginia to continue training. She was a member of Dancin’ Unlimited Jazz Dance Company under the direction of Marilyn York and was a founding member of MotionX Dance D.C. under the direction of Stephine Dorycott. She performed all over the D.C. and Metropolitan area in several different venues such as: John F. Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Capital Fringe Festival, Atlas Intersection Festival and several others. ⠀ What Brittany enjoys more than performing herself is teaching and sharing her passion with young dancers. Brittany has taught all over the Northern Virginia area for over 15 years. In 2016 she received the Favorite Dance Instructor Award in Loudoun County. Over the years she has not only had the pleasure to teach and choreograph for dance studios, but she has also brought the dance art form into the school systems by creating after school programs for pre-K- 5th grade. Along with creating programs outside of the studio, she has been a part of creating and building programs within the studio; she is best known for her Disney Program that she co-founded/co-directed with another one of her colleagues.⠀ “To me it’s more than just dance, it’s a way of living."
